Recorded interview with Flight Lieutenant Peter Gregory, 17 June 2013
Peter Gregory served as a pilot in Hercules aircraft between 1975 and 1989. His experience includes Belize, Cyprus, Singapore, Gibraltar, support for airborne forces and Exercise Red Flag in Nevada.
Peter Gregory explains how he joined the RAF as a pilot and describes his training in Chipmunk, Jet Provost and Varsity aircraft. He describes conversion to the Hercules and his experience of Hercules operations with 30 Squadron, including flights to Belize, Cyprus, Singapore and Gibraltar. He comments on support to airborne forces and Exercise Red Flag, his work calibrating instrument landing and navigation systems and later experience of airline flying.
