Leading Aircraftswoman Lillian Taylor’s work during and after the Second World War related to providing information on missing RAF aircrew to their next of kin as further detail became available.
Lillian Taylor joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force during the Second World War and trained in Morse code and radio procedure in Blackpool and at RAF Compton Bassett. She initially worked in the signals office at RAF Colerne before being posted to London. Her work in London involved establishing which missing aircrew had flown in which aircraft and writing to next of kin with further details as they became available.
