Recorded interview with William Hall, who served as an observer in Handley-Page O/400 bomber aircraft of the Royal Naval Air Service and RAF at Ochey during the First World War.
William Hall explains how he came to join the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS), training at Eastchurch, and serving as a gunner in O/400 aircraft of 16 Squadron RNAS and 216 Squadron RAF at Ochey in France. Areas covered include exposure to the weather, the techniques of bomb-dropping and the use of a drift sight. William Hall also reflects on changing attitudes between the First World War and the present.
