Max Roberts remembers training as an RAF pilot, his first tour as a ‘creamed off’ flying instructor and his conversion to the Hercules. He outlines Hercules operations, his role as a conversion unit instructor and experience of the Kuwait Liaison Team. He remembers air-to-air refuelling training for the Falklands War and long-range airdrop sorties to the task force from Ascension Island, including navigation and procedures for approaching the task force.
