Recorded interview with Air Vice Marshal Clive Evans, 5 June 2014
Clive Evans was a pilot and instructor in Hunter, Lightning and Hercules aircraft, and the F111 on exchange with the US Air Force. He commanded 24 Squadron and RAF Lyneham.
Clive Evans explains his motivation for joining the RAF, training, time as an instructor and flying the Canberra B(I)8 with 3 Squadron in Germany. He discusses various aspects of an exchange tour flying F111 aircraft with the US Air Force and explains the value of this experience. He recalls being station commander at RAF Lyneham during the Falklands War and reflects on his time as commanding officer of 24 Squadron.
