Recorded interview with Group Captain Alan Hotchkiss, who served as a pilot in Hastings, Valetta and Hercules transport aircraft in the UK and the Far East, including the Malayan Emergency.
Alan Hotchkiss joined the RAF for national service in 1950 and became a pilot in Hastings transport aircraft of 53 Squadron. He then flew Valetta transport aircraft with 110 Squadron in Singapore, including the Malayan Emergency, and then returned to the Hastings with 99 Squadron and 36 Squadron. After ground tours, he commanded 48 Squadron with Hercules transport aircraft. He served in the Ministry of Defence during the Falklands War.
