Rick Peacock-Edwards was a Lightning pilot in Germany, flew Phantoms in the UK and commanded the Tornado F.2 and F.3 conversion unit. He also deployed to the Gulf in 1990.
Rick Peacock-Edwards remembers pilot training and Lightning operations with 92 Squadron in Germany. He was then an instructor at the Lightning operational conversion unit and at RAF Valley. He was a flight commander flying Phantoms with 111 Squadron and commanded 229 Operational Conversion Unit as the Tornado F2 and F3 entered service. He deployed to the Gulf in 1990, while station commander at RAF Leeming. Flight safety is also discussed.
