Peter Hodgson flew Lightnings, F-15s with the United States Air Force, Phantoms and Tornado F.3 aircraft. He also served in staff roles in the Falkland Islands and in the UK.

Peter Hodgson flew Lightnings with 19 Squadron in Germany and 11 Squadron in the UK. He flew F-15s with the United States Air Force and Phantoms with 43 Squadron RAF. He commanded 29 Squadron with Tornado F3s, including Bosnia operations. He was Falkland Islands chief of staff British forces and air commander and then Group Captain Air Defence at Strike Command. He also served with the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
