Greg Gregory completed RAF national service as an operations clerk. He describes his work at Ismailia in relation to air traffic control and comments on life in the Middle East.
Greg Gregory remembers his Second World War evacuation and national service call-up. After basic training at RAF Innsworth he was posted straight to Egypt as an operations clerk, with no trade training. He describes life at Ismailia, including exams relating to his role as an operations clerk. He remembers periods of detached duty, his work in Air Traffic Control Centre Canal Zone and the danger of attacks on British forces.
