Recorded interview with Mike Napier, who served as an RAF pilot in Tornado GR.1 aircraft in Germany and as a tactics instructor in Hawk aircraft during the 1980s and 1990s.

Mike Napier trained at RAF Cottesmore and RAF Honington as an RAF Tornado GR1 pilot, and was posted to 14 Squadron at RAF Bruggen. He describes various aspects of late Cold War Tornado operations, including Quick Reaction Alert (QRA), nuclear weapons and Exercise Red Flag. He was a tactics instructor at RAF Chivenor during the Gulf War and then a flight commander on 14 Squadron, patrolling no-fly zones over Iraq.
