Bristol 173 (G-ALBN), Filton 19 September 1952
The Bristol 173 was designed by Raoul Hafner and first flew on 3 January 1952, though this was restricted to hovering.
The Bristol 173 was designed as a civil transport helicopter. While it was being tested it attracted interest from the RAF, Royal Navy and Royal Canadian Navy. As a result, the design was refined and three versions developed, the Bristol 191 for the Royal Navy, the Bristol 192 for the RAF and the Bristol 193 for the Royal Canadian Navy. Only the 192 entered service as the Bristol Belvedere
