Recorded interview with Andrew Smith, who served as a navigator in Phantom and Tornado GR.1 aircraft during the 1980s and 1990s. This includes operational service during the 1991 Gulf War.

Andrew Smith trained as an RAF navigator in Phantom aircraft, serving with 56 and 74 Squadrons at RAF Wattisham. He then converted to the Tornado GR1 and was posted to 9 Squadron in Germany. He describes Tornado operations, the end of the Cold War and training in the US and Canada. He describes operations over Iraq during the Gulf War in 1991 and his later involvement in patrolling no-fly zones.
