Recorded interview with John Hare, who served as an engine fitter on Halifax aircraft in the UK and Dakota transport aircraft in the Middle East during the Second World War.
John Hare remembers training as an engine fitter during the Second World War, and service with 102 Squadron, operating Halifax aircraft. He describes his work on the Halifax, squadron losses, accidents and other duties given to him. He compares the Lancaster to the Halifax and explains how he was posted to Kabrit on the Suez Canal, working on Dakota aircraft. He then served with 64 Staging Post at Luqa, Malta.
