Recorded interview with Bryn Lewis, who served as an RAF meteorological air observer during the Second World War and as a navigator in Shackleton and Vulcan aircraft following the war.
Bryn Lewis worked for the Meteorological Office as a civilian, attached to Bomber Command squadrons. He explains how he became a meteorological air observer and describes meteorological reconnaissance flights with 518 Squadron at RAF Tyree. After the war he flew as a navigator in Lancasters and Shackletons of Coastal Command, and in Canberras and Vulcans of Bomber Command. He also served in staff roles at RAF Honington and RAF Wildenrath.
