Tom Kinsella was an airframe fitter, working on Jet Provost, Beverley, Andover, Vulcan, Wessex and Chinook aircraft. He led Chinook Bravo November’s servicing and maintenance team during the Falklands War.
Tom Kinsella trained as an airframe mechanic and worked on Jet Provost, Beverley, Andover and Vulcan aircraft, and on Wessex helicopters. At the time of the 1982 Falklands War he was serving with 18 Squadron, operating Chinook helicopters. Following the loss of the cargo ship Atlantic Conveyor he was responsible for the team repairing and maintaining Bravo November, the only RAF Chinook available to British forces during the Falklands War.
