Recorded interview with Phil Bonner, who was aircrew in Shackleton AEW.2 and Sentry AEW.1 aircraft. He was involved in trials of the Nimrod AEW3 and served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Phil Bonner trained as a navigator and with 849 Naval Air Squadron in preparation for the Shackleton AEW2 airborne early warning aircraft. He comments on various aspects of the Shackleton, including the crew and facilities onboard. He recalls his involvement with the Nimrod AEW3 and trials of the E3D Sentry airborne early warning aircraft. He remembers operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and his roles as surveillance controller and tactical director.
