HGU-25P Flight Deck Helmet
Aircraft carrier decks can be very dangerous places to work. The flight deck helmet, worn with ear defenders and googles, protects the wearer from possible injury to their head, eyes and ears.
This flight deck helmet was worn by Chief Tech Peter Morgan of No.1 Squadron, whose badge has been painted onto the helmet. In 1998 No.1 Squadron served alongside Sea Harriers of the Fleet Air Arm on board HMS Invincible participating in Operation Southern Watch which maintained a no-fly zone over southern Iraq following the end of the Gulf War in 1991.
