Op Herrick individual aide memoire
Aide memoire issued to personnel about to deploy on operations to Afghanistan providing essential information on subjects such as history, geography, people, culture and useful phrases.
Operation Herrick was the codename for British contribution to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and support of the American-led Operation Enduring Freedom. Operations lasted from 2002 until 2014, during which time around 150,000 British service personnel had served in Afghanistan. This aide memoire outlined different aspects of the complex operating environment in which a serviceman or woman was about to deploy. This particular book was issued to Cpl Martin Earrey, who was a Survival Equipment Technician who deployed to Afghanistan in 2013.
