Falklands Task Force Special Ale beer bottle
Commissioned by The Sunday Mirror, about 8,500 bottles of Task Force Ale were distributed to service personnel in the South Atlantic following the end of the Falklands Conflict.
This bottle belonged to Chf Tech Tom Kinsella, who had served on the Falklands servicing the sole surviving Boeing Chinook. At the end of the conflict Tom and his fellow mechanics had not received their bottles of ale and on return to RAF Odiham, one of Tom's colleagues wrote to the Sunday Mirror complaining. The Sunday Mirror duly shipped a case to Odiham. As a teetotaller, the bottle remained unopened until it arrived at the museum.
