Trevor Jackson joined the RAF for secretarial and administrative work. He remembers nuclear, biological and chemical training, the Cold War context and how he provided cover for a Fire Brigade strike. He served with 16 Squadron, operating Buccaneers from RAF Laarbruch. He supported nuclear weapons convoys, worked as a personal assistant to several officers, including Bill Wratten during the 1991 Gulf War, and was involved in the Queen Mother’s funeral.
