Vic Bashford served as an RAF electrician during the Second World War, including participation in the Battle of France, Battle of Britain and 151 Wing’s deployment to Russia in 1941.
Vic Bashford was an electrician with 615 Squadron, operating Gloster Gladiator aircraft. He remembers the winter of 1939-1940 in France, the German attack of May 1940 and the British retreat to the coast. After being evacuated to Dover he returned to 615 Squadron and served through the Battle of Britain. He travelled to Russia with 151 Wing in 1941 and later served with 107 Maintenance Unit at Kasfareet in Egypt.
