Diary of Lieutenant Colonel Harold Wyllie, 4 November 1914-24 April 1918
Harold Wyllie was the son of William Wyllie a noted maritime artist of the Victorian Period and prior to the out break of the First World War Harold too worked as a marine artist.
He gained his Royal Aero Club licence in September 1914 and was shortly after posted to No.4 Squadron where he appears to have served as an observer from 4 November 1914- 4 February 1915 and then as an observer on No.6 Squadron 16 February 1915-13 May 1915. He is then a pilot and flight commander with No.23 Squadron 16 March 1916-11 July 1916 and commanding officer of No.102 Squadron 11 September 1917-24 April 1918.
