Interview with Gareth Attridge, who was a crewman in Hercules transport aircraft and in Puma and Merlin helicopters in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan during the 1990s and 2000s.

Gareth Attridge was a loadmaster in Hercules aircraft with 47 Squadron. He flew Puma helicopters with 33 and 230 Squadrons, including operations in Northern Ireland. He flew Merlin helicopters with 28 and 78 Squadrons in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan and remembers life on the ground alongside operations. He remembers experience of the Puma HC2, the capability of the Merlin and the transfer of the RAF’s Merlins to the Royal Navy.
