Recorded interview with Senior Aircraftsman Raymond Harris, 17 October 2018
Interview with Raymond Harris, who was an RAF driver during the 1950s. He served at RAF North Weald, acted as driver for senior officers and travelled in convoy to Germany.
Raymond Harris remembers his childhood in London during the Second World War and how, after the war, he joined the RAF as a driver. He describes his training as a driver at RAF Weeton and his first posting, to RAF North Weald. He remembers driving senior officers, responding to an air crash as duty driver and travelling in convoy to Germany. He later served in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
