Papers of Flying Officer Bruce Philip Horton Lacey, 1946-1953
Collection of photographs, letters, scrapbook, diaries and a pilot's flying log book.
Bruce Lacey joined the RAF in 1946 and initially served on radar, in 1950 he transferred to the General Duties Branch and began pilot training. On completion of his pilot training Fg Off Lacey was posted to No. 45 Squadron which was operating the De Havilland Hornet from RAF Tengah in Singapore, flying ground attack operations during the Malayan Emergency. He was killed during an armament practice north of RAF Butterworth in July 1953.
