Interview with Anthony Hopkins, who served as an RAF psychiatric nurse. He describes his experience of working with service personnel with various psychiatric conditions, including phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Anthony Hopkins trained as a civilian psychiatric nurse before joining the RAF. He worked in the psychiatric unit at Princess Alexandra’s Hospital, RAF Wroughton and describes some of the conditions encountered there. He comments on treatment for phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder, and his experience of treating personnel with psychiatric conditions resulting from service in the 1982 Falklands War and 1991 Gulf War. He also participated in aeromedical evacuation flights.
