Recorded interview with Wing Commander Anthony Eley, 16 January 2019
Tony Eley served as an RAF doctor at RAF Leconfield and later with 4626 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force, including participation in the 1991 Gulf War.
Tony Eley trained as a doctor with an RAF medical cadetship. While at RAF Leconfield he supported search and rescue operations flown by Whirlwind helicopters of B Flight, 202 Squadron, and later returned to Leconfield as senior medical officer. After leaving the regular RAF he served with, and commanded, 4626 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, including participation in the 1991 Gulf War. He outlines the squadron’s deployment and work during this time.
