Interview with Mike Stocks, who served as an RAF engineer and bomb disposal officer. He describes his work in the Falkland Islands and in command of 5131 (Bomb Disposal) Squadron.
Mike Stocks trained as an engineer officer and served at RAF Bruggen and RAF St Athan. He explains how a meeting with Alan Swan resulted in a decision to train in explosive ordnance disposal and describes his training at Chattenden and work in this area in the Falkland Islands. He remembers a United Nations posting to Georgia, command of 5131 (Bomb Disposal) Squadron and his feelings on the squadron’s disbandment.
