Brian Polson was an RAF armourer at RAF Gaydon during the 1950s. He comments on accommodation and living arrangements and the Vickers Valiant aircraft in RAF service. The Valiant’s role in carrying the UK’s nuclear deterrent, its role in the Suez crisis and participation in nuclear testing in the Pacific. He reflects on security at Gaydon, his own role, working with personal weapons, and his lack of an overseas posting.
