Coventry Cathedral and RAF Belvedere helicopter, 22 April 1962

Film in which a Bristol Belvedere helicopter is seen on the ground and at low level around Coventry Cathedral, during operations to place a spire on top of the building.

A Bristol Belvedere helicopter hovers and several views show the new Coventry Cathedral alongside the bombed ruins of the older cathedral. The Belvedere is seen on the ground during refuelling, and then on take-off. A number of people watch, two men climb down the new spire, several RAF officers are seen with the parked Belvedere and the upper piece of the spire is lifted into place as an under-slung load.
