Royal Air Force Gaydon at home on Saturday 14 September 1968
Programme for ‘At Home’ day held by Royal Air Force Gaydon, Warwickshire in 1968 both celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force and commemorating the twenty-eighth anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Four-page programme giving the times of the flying displays, para-sailing demonstration, parade of vintage vehicles and Hovercraft. A single insert provides details of the ground displays. Royal Air Force Gaydon opened in 1942 and was the home of Operational Training Units throughout the Second World War. Royal Air Force Gaydon was closed for flying in 1946 but reopened in 1954 to accommodate V-bombers. In 1965 Gaydon transferred to the Royal Air Force Flying Training Command.
