Recorded interview with Corporal Bob Kenton, 4 October 2021
Bob Kenton was an RAF carpenter during the 1970s and 1980s. He served in the Falkland Islands in 1983 and explains how a shipping container was converted into a chapel.
Bob Kenton trained as a carpenter and served at RAF St Mawgan, RAF Bruggen in Germany and RAF Wittering. He served with the mountain rescue team at RAF St Athan, worked on the interior of Queen’s Flight helicopters and remembers a detachment to the Falkland Islands in 1983. He describes his experience of the Falklands, including living and working conditions and the conversion of a shipping container into a chapel.
