Interview with Charlie Thompson, who served as an RAF nurse, including work with the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) in Afghanistan and at Headley Court rehabilitation centre in the UK.
Charlie Thompson trained as an RAF nurse and worked in aeromedical evacuation in Iraq and Afghanistan. She describes the role of the Chinook helicopter in casualty evacuation and her work as part of the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) carried by Chinooks during casualty evacuation flights. She also worked with the National Health Service, in post-trauma mental health management and in command of nursing at the Headley Court rehabilitation centre.
