Recorded interview with Squadron Leader Steve Carr, 20 January 2022
Steve Carr served as an RAF pilot in Wessex and Chinook helicopters from 1985 to 2004. During the 2003 Iraq War he landed Royal Marines on the Al Faw peninsula.
Steve Carr flew RAF Wessex helicopters in Northern Ireland and Hong Kong, and Bell 214 helicopters while on a loan service tour in Oman. As a Chinook helicopter pilot he served in Bosnia, Northern Ireland and the Falkland Islands. He deployed to the Middle East in the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal and landed Royal Marines on the Al Faw peninsula during the 2003 Iraq War, flying Chinook Bravo November.
