Interview with Charlotte Newton, who worked as a civilian systems analyst at RAF Fylingdales. She explains her own role and that of RAF Fylingdales in tracking and assessing orbital contacts.
Charlotte Newton explains how she came to work at RAF Fylingdales as a space track analyst and later as a systems analyst. She describes a secondment to the UK Space Operations Centre at High Wycombe, shift work at Fylingdales, the need to build up a pattern of normal behaviour so as to be able to spot anything out of the ordinary and the work of tracking and reporting space events.
