Recorded interview with Sergeant David Lloyd, 1 August 2022

Interview with David Lloyd, who served as an aircraft communications technician on various aircraft types, including Canberra bombers, Beverley transport aircraft, Lightning fighters, Victor tanker aircraft and helicopters, including Chinooks.

David Lloyd trained as an air wireless mechanic at RAF Cosford and served initially with 58 Squadron, operating Canberra bombers. He worked with Beverley transport aircraft of 34 Squadron in Singapore, with Lightnings at RAF Leuchars and Victor tankers at RAF Marham. He worked with helicopters of 72, 230 and 18 Squadrons and with 240 Operational Conversion Unit in the UK and Germany. He remembers the introduction of Chinook helicopters.
