Standard of the National Service Royal Air Force Association

Bright blue flag with yellow tasselled edges and emblem of NSRAFA in centre, contained within display case. This Standard, designed to be carried on parades, has represented National Service veterans at events in the UK and Europe, including the Menin Gate Ceremony in Ypres, Belgium. It was donated to the RAF Museum in 2022.

Between 1949 and 1963, young men in the UK were required to undertake a period of National Service in one of the armed forces. Veterans formed the National Service (RAF) Association in 2002 to ensure their contribution was not forgotten.
