Ruth Montague explains how she joined the Women’s Royal Air Force (WRAF) as an education officer. She describes her training and work in education and welfare at RAF Wittering, High Wycombe and Bentley Priory. She was an instructor at RAF Halton and the RAF Staff College at Bracknell. She was deputy director and then the last director of the WRAF. She discusses the changing status of women in the RAF.
