Interview with Jimmy James, who flew Kittyhawk aircraft with 450 Squadron in Italy during the Second World War. He was shot down and made prisoner of war by German forces.
Jimmy James remembers pilot training during the Second World War, his conversion to the Kittyhawk aircraft and ground attack operations with 450 Squadron in Italy in 1944. He was shot down by ground fire and was taken prisoner by German forces. He gives an account of his prisoner of war experience at Dulag Luft and Stalag Luft VII, his experience of the ‘long march’ and his return to the UK.
