No.6 Squadron pilot and name badge to Bill Pixton.
William Pixton joined the RAF in the late 1960s as an apprentice electronics technician, while at RAF Cosford an officer identified his potential and suggested he apply for pilot training. On completion of his pilot training Pixton was posted to RAF Bruggen in West Germany flying the Sepecat Jaguar, Pixton would fly the Jaguar for much of his RAF flying career, including with 6 Squadron. He later commanded the Jaguar detachment during the 1991 Gulf War.
