Rapid Deployment Force, United States Air Force, badge, circa 1980.
Acquired by William Pixton when on an exchange tour with 355th Tactical Fighter Squadron, which was a unit assigned to the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF). The RDF was established in 1979 and was planned to be a rapid reaction force deployable to locations outside of usual United States areas of deployment.
