Middle East International Airshow 1990, British Participant badge

The badge was obtained by William Pixton, the Officer Commanding the Sepecat Jaguar detachment, one of the units that participated in the US lead international coalition in response to Iraq’s annexation of Kuwait in August 1990.

12 Jaguars deployed to the Gulf under the command of William Pixton. During the combat phase of operations Jaguars flew 617 Sorties on 156 operations which comprised Surface Combat Air Patrol (SUCAP), Air Interdiction and reconnaissance operations.
