This appears to be a George V penny that has been inscribed to become an identity tag or sweetheart token. No. 605 Squadron was an Auxiliary squadron based in 1935 at RAF Castle Bromwich in Birmingham.

The Auxiliary Air Force formed part of the Air Force Reserve, comprising civilian volunteers who trained during evenings and weekends. No. 605 Squadron was founded at RAF Castle Bromwich in 1926 and recruited personnel from the Birmingham area. This former George V penny has been converted to identify or commemorate Flight Lieutenant H.H.B., a No. 605 Squadron member.
