Papers of Warrant Officer Michael Joseph Moloney, 1942-1956
Collection of papers relating to Warrant Officer Michael Joseph Moloney. Warrant Officer Moloney came from the Republic of Ireland. He voluntarily joined the RAF during the Second World War and remained in the RAF until 1963. The collection includes two aircrew flying log books, a warrant certificate and a quantity of photographs.
Warrant Officer Moloney served with the following operational squadrons: No. 205 Squadron, 3 May 1944-26 April 1945; No. 230 Squadron, 8 November 1948-25 September 1952; and No. 210 Squadron, 5 July 1956-18 December 1956. He also flew with No. 1453 Flight from 2 December 1952-28 June 1956, operating the Neptune AEW.1 aircraft in an Airborne Early Warning role. During his time with No. 230 Squadron, Warrant Officer Moloney participated in the Berlin Airlift. Medal group X008-8795.
