Medal Bar of Flight Lieutenant Frederick William Arthur Hendry

The DFC was awarded to Hendry on completion of a tour of operations and following his navigating a severely disabled aircraft back to the UK after severe icing resulted in the loss of engines and height over enemy territory.

Medal bar of 5 awarded to Flight Lieutenant Frederick William Arthur Hendry (156461), comprising: DFC, 1939-1945 Star, Air Crew Europe Star with France and Germany clasp, Defence Medal, 1939-1945 War Medal - fastened to coral-coloured fabric case onto which an eagle shoulder badge is stitched and piece of gold coloured metal sweetheart jewellery is attached; inside the case is also a white handkerchief.
