Collection comprised of a flying log book, diary, photographs & correspondence.
The collection includes Pilot Officer Kelly's flying log book and diary he kept whilst undertaking flying training in the early 1950s. Sadly Pilot Officer Kelly was killed in a flying accident in a Gloster Meteor F.8 on 8 June 1954, it is believed he lost control of the aircraft due to instrument failure during a night navigation exercise in bad weather.
