Interview with Niall Rath, who served as an electrical and instrument fitter, air electronics operator in Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft and a crewman in Sea King search and rescue helicopters.
Niall Rath trained as an electrical and instrument fitter at RAF Halton. He worked on Phantom aircraft at RAF Coningsby before training as an air electronics operator in Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft of 206 Squadron at RAF Kinloss. He then became a crewman in Sea King helicopters and participated in search and rescue operations with 22, 202 and 203 Squadrons, including the 2001 Selby rail crash and 2004 Boscastle floods.
