Flying log books of Flt Lt Niall Rath. Flt Lt Rath joined the RAF in 1974, after his training he served initially as an Air Electronics Operator on British Aerospace Nimrod MR.1s with No.206 Squadron.
In the mid 1980s, Niall Rath became a crewman and winch operator on RAF search and rescue Westland Sea King helicopters, participating in many search and rescue operations Most notably he was involved in the search and rescue operations mounted in the wake of the 2004 flood in Boscastle, Cornwall. Seven RAF and Royal Navy Sea Kings were involved in rescuing trapped residents. The aircraft on which Niall Rath was on rescued 10 people that day.
