Armstrong Whitworth Siskin IIIA Aircraft and Crews, RAF Display, Hendon 1929
The air displays at RAF Hendon were an opportunity for the public to see the Royal Air Force in action. They also brought together all of the squadrons based in Britain.
The Armstrong Whitworth Siskin IIIA entered RAF service in 1925. Eventually, eleven fighter squadrons were equipped with the type. No. 29 Squadron, shown here at RAF Hendon in 1929, operated the type at RAF North Weald from 1928 until 1932. The men shown are some of the pilots and groundcrew from No. 29 Squadron.
