Gilbert Clarke came to the UK from Jamaica to serve in the RAF during the Second World War. He describes his training and work in electronics and with aircraft instruments.

Gilbert Clarke remembers early life in Jamaica and explains how he joined the RAF during the Second World War. He describes his journey to the US and then by sea to the UK, his experience of life in the UK and his RAF training in electronics. He recalls working with damaged aircraft and on the repair of instruments, and the experience of aircraft passing overhead in support of Operation Overlord.
